Ecological interactions at the intersection of spatial ecology, global change, and behavioral ecology.

Hannah Ashe (PhD Student)

As a PhD student in the Orrock Lab, I am currently studying the changing behavior of small mammals residing in habitats affected by invasive plants. Specifically, my work focuses on differing rates of cache pilferage in habitats invaded with common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica). A deeper understanding of pilferage behavior, as well as seed fate following pilferage, has the potential to aid crucial decisions regarding reseeding and restoration efforts.

Prior to joining the Orrock Lab, I graduated from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) with a BS in Conservation Biology. During my undergraduate studies, my work focused on the long-term monitoring of small mammals in the Adirondack Park.
